The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and the McKenzie-Elliott School of Nursing work together with community resources to make our programs effective.

External Community of Interest - Advisory Committee

The faculty of the McKenzie-Elliott School of Nursing believe that the community it serves plays a vital role in program development and continued program relevance and excellence.

Direct community involvement is characterized by valuing external input and a commitment to involve external stakeholders in a variety of formal and informal means.

The primary purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide an effective link between practice and education by utilizing nursing and health leaders from the UNCP service area as advisors to the program. In this capacity, members will advise on program policies, planning, curricula, and standards to ensure that graduates of the program are competent in the practice of nursing and prepared to meet the challenges faced by nurses in the health care delivery system.
