BELIZE- ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

Education students and Teacher candidates will have the chance to be immersed in the culture of Belize and actively engage with teachers, students, and curriculum in the classroom. Course offered in the spring and traveling during Maymester. Come learn what this amazing experience is all about on November 13th in Education Room 211 at 3pm. May 6-18. (Education Students only.)

BERLIN, GERMANY- POLITICAL SCIENCE

A recurring study abroad, students will learn about the political and professional figures of Germany, specifically the progressive, modern and green city of Berlin. Personalized visits to Bundestag, Bundesrat, Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and Potsdam will enhance this political science course offered in the spring and traveling during Maymester. May 13-25. (Accepting all students.)

BERMUDA- TBD

PARIS, FRANCE- SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Learn about leadership in international settings, develop intercultural awareness, and increase your knowledge of the environmental, geographic, historic, and cultural factors affecting businesses in France. Gain knowledge in globalization, international trade, and the European Union. Visits to Paris and surrounding areas. May 5-19. (Business Students only.)

MADRID, SPAIN- FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Immerse yourself in the culture of Spain by first taking the SPN 3510 course at UNCP and then traveling to Madrid during spring break. Visit the Prado Museum, the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, and many other interesting sites while in Madrid, Spain! March 2-10. (Accepting all students.)

Study Away

GRAND CANYON- GEOLOGY

Experience the geology, beauty, and culture surrounding  some of the most iconic National Parks in the United States. Students will meet once a week for the last eight weeks of the Spring Term to prepare and learn about the region; followed by a 12-day field trip! There will be hiking, rafting, kayaking, and camping. Good health and physical abilities will be necessary for completing the trip. Come learn what this amazing experience is all about on November 15th in Science (SCI), Rm. 3231 at 2:30pm. May 7-18. (Accepting all students.)

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE- NURSING

This will be the first Study Away Program for the Department of Nursing. As faculty, we strongly believe this “Nursing in Nashville” experience will pave the path for future programs. The program will allow the selected students in NUR 3500 to connect their classroom and clinical knowledge into a setting outside of rural nursing care. The Nursing Students will examine how cultural beliefs, spiritual beliefs and values impact the health and wellness of, children, adolescents and their families. May 14-17. (Nursing Students only.)

Summer 2018

SASKATCHEWAN- AMERICAN INDIAN STUDIES

Students will take a course in Summer I and travel during Summer II. Students will travel to Canada to explore how Saskatchewan's many Indigenous peoples mobilize memory and history to revitalize their communities and renew their cultures. Come learn what this amazing experience is all about on November 16th in Old Main, 2nd floor-AIS Suite at 1.30pm. (Accepting AIS Students.)
