International Education Week (IEW) is a yearly event co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate international education and exchange, and to prepare students and future leaders to thrive in the global environment.

British comedy, British snacks, and an opportunity to travel to London and Edinburgh

Don't miss this fun and action packed movie about a South London teen and his gang who battle aliens that have invaded their neighborhood. This film stars John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens; Star Wars: The Last Jedi) in his first film. 

Food will be provided, but feel free to bring dinner.

Study Abroad in England and Scotland

May 6 – May 13, 2019

Take a Spring Semester 2nd-eight-weeks course on Comparative Media Systems (MCM 3000 World Media- Dr. Litty) or Cultural Anthropology in the U.K. (SOCS 4030- Dr. Spivey).  Travel with both classes and professors via train from Scotland to England with guided tours in both capital cities. Visit Edinburgh Castle, the Tower of London, and class-related locations like the Tate Modern and international media organizations (MCM 3000) or London’s War Museum and the National Museum of Scotland (SOCS 4030).  The travel portion occurs during Maymester.  Airfare, hotel, tours, daily breakfast, 2 dinners included. $3,337.

Exploring Intersections within Indigenous and Global Nations

We tend to think Native American cultures as having deep roots within a local community, but Native Americans are also part of a global community of indigenous peoples. Join us as we discuss the intersection between Native Americans' local roots and global bonds.

This discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Jane Haladay, Department of American Indian Studies, and several of her students who studied abroad in Canada last summer.

Co-sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership, and the Office of Global Engagement.
