Midpoint and Exit Conferences

MAT Candidate Progress Conference at Midpoint/Completion of Phase I:

During the midpoint conference, the Area Director meets with the candidate and completes the MAT Candidate Progress Conference at Midpoint Summary Form on Taskstream. Areas for discussion at the conference include, but are not limited to (a) Dispositions Self-Assessment survey; (b) the candidate’s planned sequence of courses in program; and (c) the extent to which the candidate’s expectations of the program are being met. If the Area Director determines that the candidate is not making satisfactory progress at the midpoint conference, a follow-up conference is required. Because some candidates complete Phase I before starting Phase II, while other candidates work on courses for both phases simultaneously, it is at the discretion of the candidate and Area Director whether to schedule this conference at the completion of Phase I, or at the completion of 18 graduate hours.

Candidates must be enrolled in Taskstrem to complete these requirements; the enrollment code for the Graduate Assessment System is GAS14. The Taskstream form to be completed during this conference includes the following:

  • Name of Candidate
  • Program/Area Director
  • Semester
  • Program Area
  • Areas Discussed (graded 1=satisfactory; 2=needs follow-up; and 3=not discussed, explain in comments below):

    • Leadership Project Progress
    • Candidate's planned sequence of courses in program
    • Extent to which candidate's expectations of program are being met

MAT Candidate Progress Conference at Exit/Completion of Phase II:

During the exit conference, the Area Director meets with the candidate and completes the MAT Candidate Exit Progress Summary Form on Taskstream. The meeting should include a discussion of the candidate's understanding of the professional dispoisitions, the candidate's progress through the program overall, and the candidates' plans for future professional growth. The candidate also has a chance to articulate any concerns about the program.
