Academic Advising
Academic advising is available through a phone appointment or virtual appointment. First-year students and students on probation should contact their advisor in the Center for Student Success to schedule an appointment. Upper-class students should contact their departmental advisor to set-up an appointment.

UNCP WebEx Tutoring
The tutoring program of UNCP is pleased to announce its new format to request tutoring services via E.A.B. To request tutoring services you would need to perform the following tasks;
Go to uncp.edu.
Go to quick links and click on EAB SSC, and log in using your Braveweb information.
Click on Get Assistance.
Click on Tutoring.
Select the course/subject for which you are requesting tutoring services under “Courses”, {then click “NEXT”}
Click on the drop down arrow key and select “Wellons Hall, Suite H.”
Take the arrow, click inside the box and a tutor/tutors should appear, then select a tutor.
Click on the time that you would like to receive tutoring services in the blue highlighted boxes.
{Note: If you don’t see a time that you are available, click on the highlighted blue arrow. This will take you to the next week}
Confirm your appointment. {If you have a specific topic you would like to discuss during your tutoring session, please document it in the comments section prior to confirming your appointment}.

Writing Center
UNCP’s Writing Center Will Offer Only Online Appointments for the Fall 2020 semester.
These sessions will be live and interactive with Webcam capabilities, real time edits, and messaging functions. Instructions are posted on the Writing Center’s website if you have never accessed the Online Consultation service. We look forward to continuing to serve the campus community and provide quality tutoring.

Tips to stay productive
- Create a set schedule: Treat your online classes like they are in person.
- Stay organized: Create a list of all-important due dates.
- Avoid distractions: Turn off Netflix and Disney+ to avoid getting sidetracked.
- Try virtual study groups: WebEx, FaceTime, Google Hangouts have creative ways to stay connected with classmates.

Course Withdrawal
- Due to the current situation revolving around the Covid-19 virus, the withdrawal deadline for regular session courses has been extended until July 31, 2020. Also, students can submit course withdrawals for any undergraduate course (face to face, online, hybrid), via the Online Course Withdrawal Form.

- The start date for 2nd 8 Week courses has been moved to March 23, 2020

Canvas
In order to assist with student success during the transition from in-person to online courses, our office has created a Canvas site. It includes best practices, time management, communication, teamwork, and other relevant topics pertaining to online learning. We have been monitoring the global concerns about COVID-19 and are doing everything we can to provide the best service possible while mitigating health risks on campus.
