Pine Cottage is insulated into the woods, where there is ample open space for growing vegetables and pine trees tower over azalea and daylily gardens. The university acquired the property in 2013 from a local family, Mary Lou Lowry and her son, Heyward.
The Pine Cottage estate serves multiple purposes to the UNCP community. The building and grounds are an ideal conference site, a place to get away for relaxed quiet meetings or outdoor experiences. Located on the property is a Campus Garden and disc golf course.
