    • March 1-4, 2021: Social Justice Symposium
    • March 11, 2021: Black Card Revoked at 6 p.m. Join by visiting https://uncp.webex.com/uncp/j.php?MTID=m7c89dd8b3cbb92db8af7498f996f18a3. Use meeting number (access code): 160 867 9986 and meeting password: IAB2021.
    • March 16, 2021: Student Mark Landry Jr. will play Irish folk songs on the piano in the lounge of the Chavis University Center from 12 to 1 p.m. Also pick up some Irish snacks while Mark tickles the ivory with Irish tunes.
    • March 17, 2021: St. Patrick's Day Lunch in the Dining Hall in the Chavis University Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop in to try dishes from the Emerald Isle and more.
    • March 17, 2021: Watch the virtual play Platanos Y Collard Greens at 7 p.m. The event consists of a fun interactive lecture from the director David Lamb. Platanos Y Collard Greens is about "Black and Latino Relations in a Time of Change" using music and video/documentary footage and will include performances from two of the Platanos cast members of spoken word pieces from the play. The subject matter will be both historical and cultural and address interpersonal romantic relationships and the state of race relations in the present era. Participate virtually by visiting BraveConnect.
    • March 18, 2021: Participate in the “Smart, Funny, and Black” game show hosted by Amanda Seals of HBO’s Insecure. The show begins at 7 p.m. Participate virtually through BraveConnect.

    • Autism Awareness Month
    • LGBTQIA+ Pride Month (at UNCP; celebrated nationally in June)
    • April 13, 2021: Enjoy diverse cultural cuisines and music in the Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Scottish-American Heritage Month
      • April 20, 2021: Sounds and Tastes of Scotland from 12 - 1 p.m. in the lounge of the Chavis University Center. Join us to listen to Scottish music and sample Scottish shortbread.
    • Caribbean-American Heritage Month (at UNCP; celebrated nationally in June)
      • April 26, 2021: The Sounds of the Caribbean: Calypso Music for Steel Drum. Join us for a performance by Dr. Joseph Van Hassel (assistant professor in UNC Pembroke's Music Department) from 12-12:45 p.m. on the lawn of the Chavis University Center. While at the event, be sure to grab a bag of platanitos chips and a button!

      • Inclusion roundtables are targeted meetings to hear from students, faculty and staff to assess the needs of UNC Pembroke’s diverse communities to determine how the campus can work together to create a more inclusive BraveNation.
