See a doctor from home, at work or on the go

Sunburn at the beach? Stomach bug on Thanksgiving? In a rural area with no doctors nearby? Think you've got the flu but don't feel up to driving to your doctor's office?

Student Health Services began virtual care visits via Cisco Webex or traditional telephone calls on Monday, March 23, 2020.  Please be assured that we can offer many non-urgent concerns through a virtual visit. However, you must physically be in North Carolina during the scheduled virtual visit. To schedule an appointment call (910) 521-6219.  *No Copay Required.*

Another great option for those with the Student Blue health insurance is MDLIVE

MDLIVE, a leading virtual visits vendor, lets you visit independently contracted MDLIVE board-certified doctors when you may need care. They may help treat non-emergency medical and pediatric health issues. Plus, they may even write and send prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy (when appropriate).

Having a Virtual Visit

You may want to have a virtual visit:

  • Instead of going to the ER or urgent care for non-emergency visits
  • If your doctor is booked
  • While at home, work or on-the-go

Your Costs

Simply pay your in-network primary care doctor copay. For plans with a deductible and coinsurance, you’ll pay no more than $45.

Your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina health plan includes telehealth services from MDLIVE. It's a good option for minor health problems when you can't see your regular doctor. Plus, it's often more convenient and cost effective than urgent care.
