Program Requirements for PC Prep
The Peace Corps Prep program will prepare you for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. To accomplish this, you will build for core competencies through interrelated coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development support.
Upon completion of the PC Prep program, students will receive a certificate confirming they have met program requirements for inclusion on their résumés. While Peace Corps Prep certifications aid students’ competitiveness in submitting stronger applications for Peace Corps admission, acceptance is not guaranteed.
Who should apply?
If you want to join the Peace Corps, jumpstart your public service career or apply to graduate school this program is for you. If you have already gone on a UNCP study abroad program, you can top it off with the Peace Corp Prep program. While any UNCP undergraduate in good academic standing can join UNCP’s Peace Corps Prep, only US citizens can serve in the Peace Corps volunteer program.
What are the requirements for applying to the UNCP PC Prep Program?
- Enrolled in a UNCP undergraduate program.
- Possess at minimum a 2.7 Cumulative GPA at the time of application, and remain in good academic standing thereafter.
- Have completed 30 hours of academic credit at UNCP.
- Any and all majors are encouraged to apply.
- Hold U.S. citizenship.
