BraveNation:

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory detailing the threat of severe storms in our area for tomorrow afternoon. The current forecasts indicate we could experience rain, heavy winds, tornados, hail and severe thunderstorms as the system moves through the region beginning in the early afternoon through the early evening.

In anticipation of adverse weather, on Thursday, March 18, the university will operate on a condition 1 status—reduced operations—from 12:30 p.m. until midnight. UNC Pembroke will officially remain open; however, many non-mandatory operations may be substantially reduced.

Classes will be cancelled beginning 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, and resume as scheduled at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 19.

The March 18 COVID surveillance testing event will now be held from 9:30-11:45 a.m. Anyone who would like to receive a COVID test can still register at robeson.curativeinc.com. If you have already registered for a time after 11:45 a.m., you can still take advantage of the opportunity by arriving any time during the adjusted operating hours.

We understand some individuals may live in more heavily impacted areas and encourage you to use your best judgment when making travel decisions throughout the day. Please continue to monitor weather forecasts for your area and check local advisories.
