Timothy Moore- Student Advisory Board Chair
Hometown: Bladenboro, NC
Reason for joining the Board: I joined the Dean’s Student Advisory Board (DSAB) because I wanted to be able to improve the student experience at the James A. Thomas School of Business. While most faculty and staff do their best to engage with students, often many student issues are overlooked or misunderstood. Being a member of the DSAB gives me the opportunity to have direct contact with the dean and explain student issues from the student's perspective. I hope during my time as chair there will be an increase in student engagement and professors develop a better understanding of what their student's issues are.

Kiarra Payton- Board Secretary
Hometown: Fayetteville, NC
Reason for joining the Board: I am Kiarra Payton and I am currently a co-chair on the Pembroke Activities Council here on campus. I am interested in being on this advisory board because I have never been presented with an opportunity like this to be able to have a say in things that affect me directly. Rarely, ever do we as students get to sit down and talk to the Dean of our schools while he sits and listens and that is something I'd like to be a part of.

Hometown: Charlotte, NC
Reason for joining the Board: As a business major it’s important to take the time to analyze our department in order to maintain structure, graduation rate, and how it benefits students in the long run. Here at UNCP we have a board designed to ensure students are learning at a high level but also developing necessary skills to be successful leaders in their industries post-graduation. I wanted to be on this board to carry out this vision. I am a great representation of what UNC Pembroke encompasses. I want to help implement new policies and strategies to help make our Thomas School of Business more competitive compared to other schools and make sure we are constantly improving in every aspect.
