Academic Advisors & Process

The centralized advising structure established in 2021 provides extensive support to the growing student population in the Thomas College of Business and Economics. Two professional academic advisors along with a full-time faculty member who has partial responsibility as an advisor form the core of the Central Advising Team (CAT). Additionally, our three department chairs, four lecturers and several faculty volunteers team up with the three core members of the CAT to serve students during a month-long advising campaign period that is organized in March and October during the Spring and Fall semesters respectively.

Campaigns are organized to invite students for formal advising sessions with the CAT. Students may however, schedule advising sessions in-person or virtually via WebEx or Zoom at any point in time prior to the registration period. Registration pin numbers are only issued after a student has been advised. Appointments for advising are typically made through email or EAB.

Please note that student advising is year-round and does not cease after the advising and registration period.  Students may schedule appointments to see a professional advisor or a faculty member at any time during the semester. We encourage you to make an appointment to meet an advisor to help you navigate your way to a successful academic career.
