Welcome to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke School of Education, we prepare teachers, educational leaders, and commissioned officers to transform the lives of our citizens and defend our nation. The School of Education consists of two academic departments: Educational Leadership and Specialties and Teacher Education and the Reserve Officer Training Corps which consist of Aerospace Studies and Military Science.
Every success story starts with a teacher. Every doctor, lawyer, engineer, politician and CEO has had exceptional educators to develop and provide the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they needed to be successful.
Graduates of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke School of Education become teachers, administrators, and leaders who change lives through education and practical experiences. Every day these professionals play key roles in designing, developing, and leading our educational institutions. We invite you to join the University of North Carolina at Pembroke family as we prepare graduates, ready to contribute to a diverse society of access, inclusion, and equity.
Through the School of Education, you can choose to pursue an undergraduate degree in 16 different disciplines. Or perhaps, you are interested in obtaining licensure through alternative routes such add-on programs or Residency Pathways via our Master of Arts in Teaching Program. We also develop teacher leaders through our Advanced Licensure Master’s level Reading and Elementary Education Programs. In addition, highly effective school executives are produced through our Master of School Administration Program and add-on School Administration endorsement.
We are committed to achieving the highest goals for the greatest good for the students we serve, the North Carolina Educational Institutions who need us the most, and the University.
