The Educator Preparation Program at UNCP is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The EPP will undergo a Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accreditation visit in Spring 2023 under the 2022 Initial and Advanced Licensure Level Standards.
Our programs are nationally accredited.
The following programs are nationally recognized by their respective Specialized Professional Associations:
· Art Education: National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD)
· Music Education: National Association of Schools of Music (NASM)
· Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
· Social Work: Council on Social Work Education
Our programs are state approved.
The Educator Preparation Program (EPP) is coordinated by and administered through the UNCP School of Education. The EPP is approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI), compliant with North Carolina State Board of Education (NCSBE) policies, and North Carolina Assembly (NCGA) legislation to prepare future educators and verify successful completion of training for NCDPI issued licenses in the areas indicated below. Licensing area approval is reviewed annually in collaboration with the EPP and the NCDPI.
