"Where Carolina's lofty pine trees
Pierce the southern blue,
Proudly stands our Alma Mater,
Courageous, strong, and true;
Black and Gold float on forever,
Symbol of loyalty.
Pembroke, our Alma Mater,
Hail to UNCP!"
Welcome to UNCP! One of the greatest assets of a diversified and balanced band program is that it nourishes the creative spirit at the level of each player's ability and interest. All too often, while developing the mind, students neglect to cultivate their artistic growth and thereby miss an important aspect of human development. Regardless of major or ability, there is a place for you in the UNCP Bands.
Here you will find information about the "Spirit of the Carolinas" Marching Band. If you have any questions please contact the director, Mr. Marty Spitzer at 910.775.4094 or by email at email@example.com.
There is no formal audition for winds (woodwind/brass). Each section will be asked to play the Fight Song and another selected tune on the first day of band camp for the staff.
Auditions for colorguard (flag and weapon) will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Moore Hall. For more information, please click here or contact Mary Tardif, colorguard director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Auditions for percussion (battery and front ensemble) will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. in Moore Hall. For more information, please click here or contact Dr. Joseph Van Hassel, percussion director, at email@example.com or 910.522.5705.
The 2017 Sounds of Summer Clinic will be held on June 17, 2017 for high school percussion, colorguard, and drum majors. Click here for registration information.
