We are pleased to announce that this years' 9th annual Percussion Ensemble Festival will be held at UNCP on March 14, 2015. The festival is open to any and all percussion ensembles ranging from elementary school to college. The event is free for PAS members and $5 for non-members. Anyone registering for PAS the day of the event will get in for FREE!
This is a non-competitive festival. Each group is asked to prepare 1 or 2 percussion ensemble pieces that they will perform for everyone. After each performance the clinicians will work with the ensemble to improve their percussion skills.
If you and or your students are new to percussion ensemble you can also come as a non-performer and just soak in the knowledge during the day.
We are excited to announce that the guest clinician for the 2015 UNCP Percussion Festival is Roger Braun, Professor of Percussion at Ohio University. Roger Braun has performed throughout the United States and in Europe, Japan, and Korea, including collaborations with many notable performers and conductors. Braun can be heard on more than a dozen CD recordings and currently performs world percussion with the Biakuye Percussion Group, latin jazz with Los Viejos Blanquitos, and contemporary music with Galaxy Percussion. An active clinician, he endorses Encore Mallets and Pro-Mark Sticks. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan and his Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music.
