UNCP GRADUATE SCHOOL NEWS

Jingjing Gao, an international MPA student, participated in a internship with the NC Association of County Commissioners affording her the opportunity to work in the Communication Department and the Government Relationship Department where she attended conferences of both the NC House and Senate.

 

UNCP Public Administration (MPA) student, Bo Daniel Weichel, was selected as the 2016 recipient of the Government Finance Officers Associations’ Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship.  The $13,000 scholarship was awarded to Mr. Weichel at the Government Finance Officers Association’s 110th Annual Conference held May 22-25 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

UNCP Grad Students participated in the NC Graduate Education Day in Raleigh on May 24. Dr. Jennifer Twaddle, Dr. Irene Pittman Aiken, Caroline Newman, Sen. Tom McInnis (R-Richmond Co.), Jacqueline Barnoski, Dena Ali and Dr. Joe West visit in the NC Senate Chamber room.

Phi Sigma, the UNCP chapter of the international counseling honor society of Chi Sigma Iota, won Outstanding Chapter of the Year: Large Program.  Officers of the chapter who traveled to the American Counseling Association conference in Montreal in April to accept the award were Vanessa Doran, Moriah Cleveland, and Chanel Parham.

Natasha Jones Kinto, a UNCP Clinical Mental Health Counseling student, was awarded a $11,000 Counseling Fellowship by The National Board for Certified Counselors Foundation. link

The UNCP Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling (both CACREP accredited) programs were recently ranked 5th as the top value counseling master’s degrees in North Carolina by topcounselingschools.org (TCS).

Value Colleges ranks UNCP's MPA Program a Top 50 Best Value of 2016.

 

 

UNCP was again (2016) ranked by US News and World Report as among the Best Online Graduate Education Programs.

Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling programs received accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP).

MSN Program received accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

TOP MANAGEMENT DEGREES again ranks UNCP among the 2016 Fifty Best Online Master's in Public Administration Degree Programs.

US NEWS and WORLD REPORT ranks the Graduate Elementary Education program among Nations Best Online programs.

GI JOBS magazine named UNC Pembroke to its list of Military Friendly schools again for 2016.
