2022 UNCP Summer Camps offer opportunities for fun, friendship, and exploration!


Summer Camp Registration Options:


Junior Braves ( Grades 1-5 )

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke offers rising 1st to rising 5th graders the opportunity to join the Junior Braves program for a week of fun, creativity and problem solving. The Junior Braves program is designed to motivate and inspire young learners to explore and excel at challenging activities. Junior Braves will be introduced to UNC Pembroke and a variety of academic and technological skills. Enrichment classes provide opportunities for students to increase their knowledge and improve academic skills. The academically challenging classes are designed to foster development of independent learning strategies as well as offer new experiences, discoveries, challenges and excitement.


All Sports Camps ( Ages 6-12 )

UNCP All-Sports Camp provides a combination of both planned and optional activities to give kids exposure to a variety of sports and recreational activities. The summer camp is designed for children ages 6-12 and it will provide group instruction in a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, indoor hockey, softball, volleyball, kickball, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, and flag football. The camp is staffed by UNCP athletes and experienced counselors - the focus is on teamwork, sportsmanship and fun! This multi-sport camp will provide a safe and fun environment for kids to play sports they already enjoy as well as try new activities.


Brave Discovery: 3D Printing Camp ( Grades 9-12 )

3D Printing is the process of using a 3D Printer to build an object from a computer model layer by layer. In Brave Discovery: 3D Printing Camp, students will use professional-grade 3D Printers and CAD/CAM software to explore the latest design process for prototyping and build solutions.

At Brave Discovery: 3D Printing Camp, students will be posed with a series of tasks that will challenge their creativity. Using CAD/CAM software and industrial design processes, students will design a solution from scratch, 3D model it, proceed to test their idea, and refine it through multiple tests. When students are satisfied with their design, they will learn to 3D Print it and will watch in wonder as the object is created before their own eyes, layer by layer. At the end of the week, students will take home their files and 3D printed objects.


Agriculture Leaders Institute for American Indian Youth ( Grades 9-11 )

The American Indian Youth Agri Program is a weeklong residential-camp experience where campers learn and apply techniques from a variety of Agriculture disciplines including Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, with a focus on Entrepreneurship. This week-long residential camp will incorporate “hands-on” activities in our community farms, collaborating in teams and working as individuals, and demonstrating business development skills.

Rising 5th – 8th grades


Join us for a fun-filled, hands-on adventure as we explore the science, engineering, and technology needed to explore Mars. Astronomy, rocketry, planetary science, mission planning and engineering, and space exploration technology are the basis for a week filled with interactive, experiential, fun in the following activities:

  • Model Rocketry
  • 3D Design & Printing
  • Robotic Vehicle
  • Life on Mars


National Summer Transportation Institute

Rising 11th -12th grades


The NSTI program is focused on science, technology, engineering and math for high school students. Program objectives are to improve STEM skills, provide awareness to high school students about transportation careers, and encourage participants to consider transportation-related fields of study in their higher education pursuits.

During the four-weeks campers will:

  • Take part in hands-on exploration of our transportation systems
  • Exploring career opportunities and develop new skills
  • Take educational field trips
  • Participate in college ready sessions 
  • Enjoy recreational activities emphasizing Team Building, Leadership and Communication

G-CAMP - Wizard of Oz

Children take center stage this summer at G-Camp, a week-long theatre enrichment day camp. G-Camp is sure to inspire and excite the imagination of any child. Professional directors will instruct students through a production of  The Wizard of Oz. 

"After a terrible twister roars across the dusty fields of her beloved Kansas, accidental traveler Dorothy Gale finds herself immersed in an unlikely tangle of friends and foes on her way to meet the mysterious Wizard in the Emerald City. As Dorothy and her ever-growing roster of travel companions follow the Yellow Brick Road, she discovers that sometimes it’s not about the journey itself, but the friends you make along the way."


Kids in the Garden Program ( Grades 7-12 )

Are you interested in learning about science, engineering, and technology by doing tons of great science experiments and activities? Do you want to explore careers in science, technology, and engineering? Do you love flowers, insects, to go outside and explore, to learn about bees and beekeeping, and to go on field trips? Do you like to make crafts from natural objects? If so, then, our program is for you!
