Application Fee Waiver
UNCP is proud of your military service. We honor and recognize the service of our military men and women. The application fee is waived for active duty, veterans, reservists, and members of the national guard upon submission of proper documentation (LES or DD-214) to the applicable office of admissions (Graduate or Undergraduate).
College Credit for Military Training
Transfer your prior military training and experience into college credit. Request a military transcript at the websites listed below:
- Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Reserve: JST transcript at Joint Services Transcript website.
- Air Force, AF Guard and Reserve: CCAF transcript at the Community College of the Air Force website.
VA Education Benefits
UNC Pembroke is authorized by the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to certify students who qualify for the Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (Chapter 30) Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves (Chapter 1606), Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (Chapter 35), Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33), and Veteran Readiness and Employment (Chapter 31).
In-State Residency
There is an in-state tuition waiver available for non-resident active-duty service members assigned to a duty station in North Carolina. Non-resident veterans, eligible, spouses or dependents utilizing Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits are eligible for in-state tuition consideration if they have been awarded and are using VA educational benefits at UNCP. The student has to be using VA education benefits to be eligible for the waiver.
Online Enrollment Certification
UNCP military affiliated students using VA Education benefits are required to complete an Enrollment Certification Request AFTER registering for classes each semester to benefit payments. Failure to submit the form may cause a delay in the processing and receipt of benefit payments.
