Brandon Locklear

Biology 1998
Obstetrician, gynecologist. Orlando Health, Longwood, Fla. Brandon earned his medical degree at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. From proud lineage of UNCP graduates, including his grandmother, Rosetta Oxendine Locklear, in 1962 and father, Dr. Kenneth Locklear.

Infielder, Kansas City T-Bones: All-American third baseman at UNCP. Drafted by Atlanta Braves in 2014 MLB Draft. Played for the Danville Braves, Rome Braves, Carolina Mudcats and Florida Fire Frogs. South Atlantic League All-star, All-Appalachian League.

James Lockemy

History 1971
Chief Judge, South Carolina Court of Appeals. U.S. Army veteran. Retired as full colonel of S.C. Army National Guard. Former member of S.C. House of Representatives. Elected as Circuit Court Judge in 1989. Elected as chief judge in 2016. Served as 2017 UNCP commencement speaker.

Jesse Oxendine

Education 1951
First American Indian pharmacist in NC. WWII veteran. Helped liberate concentration camps in Germany. Played quarterback for UNCP’s first football team 1947-1951. Worked as pharmacist in Charlotte for 40 years. Helped revive football at UNCP. Former chairman of UNCP Board of Trustees.
