The Writing Center welcomes students working on group papers.
We recommend that students working on group papers come to the Writing Center as a whole group. This way, the tutor can provide feedback on the paper as a whole and engage the whole group in a productive conversation about the paper. One member of the group should make the appointment and should explain on the appointment web form that he or she will be part of a larger group.
Groups may use our overhead projector/Smart Board during their session and/or bring hard copies of their paper.
If not all group members are present during the tutorial session, the tutor will only provide feedback on sections written by the students who are present. The tutor may read all sections in order to gain an idea of overall organization and coherence of the paper, but will not provide detailed feedback on the sections written by those students not present.
If students would like to notify their instructor that they attended a tutorial session in the writing center, tutors will provide instructor notification forms or notification emails only for those students who are present.
