Annual Holiday Gala is December 3

Holiday Gala is 8 p.m. to midnight, Friday, December 3 at the Southeastern Agricultural Center, located on U.S. 74 about one mile east of the I-95 interchange. Evening attire is recommended.

Lou Rawls at GPAC December 4

Lou RawlsLou Rawls comes to the Givens Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 4, at 8 p.m. as part of the Nostalgia Concert Series.

His 40-plus years as a recording artist, resulted in over 60 albums, three Grammies, 13 Grammy nominations across four categories - pop, jazz, R&B and children’s – and netted one platinum album, five gold albums and a gold single. Rawls has given his audience hits including "Love's A Hurtin' Thing," "Your Good Thing (Is About To End)" and "Natural Man."

‘Fiddler’ comes to GPAC December 7

Fiddler On The Roof“Fiddler on the Roof”comes to the Givens Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, December 7 at 8 p.m. as part of the Broadway and More Series. The show is a remarkable journey traveling through secret love, forbidden betrothal, weddings, devotion and forgiveness, tempered by rejection, oppression and imminent revolution. Emerging through it all, we find humor, strength and perseverance. Based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem, “Fiddler on the Roof” has been lauded by critics again and again, and won the hearts of people all around the world. Filled with a rousing, heartwarming score, which includes “Tradition,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “If I Were A Rich Man” and “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Fiddler on the Roof” is a timeless classic. Without our traditions, our lives would be as shaky as a...”Fiddler on the Roof!”

Staff Holiday Social is Dec. 9

The staff is invited to a “Holiday Social” with food, fun and entertainment Thursday, Dec. 9, 11a.m. – 2:00 P.M .in the U.C. Lounge

The menu is roast turkey with dressing, baked ham, tossed salad, vegetarian entrée, cranberry sauce, candied yams, green bean casserole, pumpkin and pecan pie, iced tea and water.

The cost is $5.50 and must be paid by Dec. 3. There will be food, fun and entertainment. Staff may pay: Shirley Rodgers in Lumbee Hall (extension 6175), Teresa Bryant in University Center (extension 6207), Julie Apodaca (extension 6695) in D.F. Lowry and Bridget Jones (extension 6601) in Physical Plant.

Homecoming is Jan. 31 – Feb. 5
