Monday, September 22

"In the Mood" is at 8 p.m. at GPAC. Tickets are $22, $20 and $10 for a child or student. It is rhythm, swing, jazz, brass, sentimental, romantic and nostalgic all at the same time! More than a concert, "In the Mood" is a retro 1940s revue that features singers, dancers and the sensational String of Pearls Orchestra. Experience the music that moved a nation's spirit.

Soledad O'Brien kicks off the Distinguished Speaker Series at 7 p.m. at GPAC.
Tickets are $10. O'Brien is the co-host of CNN's "American Morning."

Wednesday, September 24

The Moore Hall Recital Series presents organist Mark Frazier at 10 a.m. It is free and the public is welcome.

Thursday, September 25

The UNCP Band will give a concert at GPAC, 7:30 p.m.

Art Exhibit

The Art Department presents "Works on Paper" by Michael H. Voors, an exhibition of drawings and prints. The exhibit runs from September 8 through September 22. The charcoal and pastel drawings in this exhibition reflect work done through direct observations at many famous sites. Since 1980, Michael Voors has had work in over 237 exhibitions. Voors has been with the faculty at the School of Art, East Carolina University since 1980.

Climbing Wall

The Regional Center announced that the climbing wall will be open for the semester on Monday, September 8. Climbing wall hours for the semester will be Monday through Thursday from 1 - 5 p.m. In order to use the facility, individuals must complete a certification class and pass a subsequent examination. There is a $10 charge for the class and for equipment rental. The class will be offered each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of September and October from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in Room 26 of the Jones Athletic Complex. Class size is limited to 20 individuals.
