The James B. Chavis University Center is also home to many UNCP administrative offices. Regular office hours for departments within the University Center are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. The UC Administrative Office is located in Suite 220, 2nd floor.

ASSOCIATION OF CAMPUS ENTERTAINMENT

Mission: The purpose of the Association of Campus Entertainment (ACE), the entertainment branch of the SGA, is to plan, organize, and carry out a program of social activities.  ACE members bring a variety of exciting entertainment to campus, including comedians, game shows, carnivals, and hypnotists.  In addition, ACE sponsors Homecoming activities, dances, and movies.

CAREER CENTER

Mission: The Career Center's purpose is to assist students and alumni with a wide range of career planning needs. The staff is available to assist students in deciding their major, assessing their skills and interests, exploring job information, critiquing resumes, developing interview skills, and determining job-hunting strategies.  The Career Center library maintains resources related to majors, occupations, employers, graduate schools, internships and the job market.  Full-time, part-time, and summer job listings are also available.

COUNSELING AND TESTING CENTER

Mission: The Counseling and Testing Center provides confidential, personal counseling for UNCP students without cost.  Numerous choices face college students--counseling can help a student make satisfying decisions and resolve problems concerning personal feelings, relationships, family issues, alcohol/drug use, academic success, and more.  The Counseling and Testing Center also provides graduate and undergraduate admissions testing.

GREEK LIFE

Mission: The UNCP Office of Greek Life is committed to creating a values-based leadership experience for a lifetime by enhancing student development through active participation in Greek organizations. The Office of Greek Life supports and promotes academic excellence, student involvement in co-curricular activities, career development, social responsibility, alma mater allegiance, social justice, civic engagement, and cultural awareness.

INTRAMURALS AND RECREATION

Mission:

The Intramurals/Campus Recreation Program believes that leisure physical activity and enjoyment are vital to a person’s total well-being. Based upon this belief, the intramural program provides a broad and diversified program of recreational sport activities for the University’s students, faculty, and staff.

Students at UNCP have opportunities for participation in over a dozen intramural activities, and if that is not sufficient recreational opportunity, there’s also recreational swimming, weight lifting, and fitness activities.
