Web Plagiarism
Plagiarism is not a new concept to education. Just a few years ago, plagiarism meant educators had to deal with improper attribution or recycled term papers. Today, however, with easy access to the Internet and its vast quantity of research and information, students can create a copy-and-paste term paper or purchase a term paper with a few clicks of a mouse. Currently, thousands of free and fee-based pre-written term papers are available online.
The good news is educators have access to a variety of resources and can learn different approaches to prevent and detect Web plagiarism, including using online software to check a student's work for plagiarism.
"Web Plagiarism" was made possible through a TLC-sponsored mini-grant.
