UNC Pembroke Teaching Fellow Requirements, in addition to the North Carolina Teaching Fellow requirements
1. Maintain an minimum 2.5 GPA
(minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA end of first semester of the freshman year, minimum cumulative 2.25 GPA at the end of the freshman year, and a minimum 2.50 GPA at end of sophomore year, including course work in his/her teaching field and each semester thereafter)
2. Summer Enrichment
Summer Enrichment opportunities are provided for by the NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship. Fellows are expected to participate in Summer Enrichment at the end of the freshman, sophomore and junior years. Visit www.teachingfellows.org for more information.
4. Admission to Teacher Education Program
Fellows must be accepted into the Teacher Education after four semesters of funds. Visit http://www.uncp.edu/soe/teach/admission/ for more information.

6. Seminars, Classes, Workshops, Field Trips
UNCP Teaching Fellows will participate in all on and off campus activities designed for Fellows. UNCP Teaching Fellows receive semester seminar calendars the first Wednesday after classes begin in fall and spring semesters. UNCP Teaching Fellow seminars are scheduled on Wednesday afternoons at 3:30 pm in the School of Education.
7. Field Experience
The experience provides extended periods of time for students to observe the dynamics of the classroom and school organization.
Requirements - 10 hours freshmen and 30 hours sophomore, juniors and seniors
8. Freshman Seminar (FRS 100) and Composition I (ENG 105)
UNCP Teaching Fellows will take the above courses as a cohort
9. Maintain contact information
Fellows should notify the UNCP Teaching Fellows Office if any contact information changes - cell phone, address, mail box.
