A Teaching Fellow at UNCP finds a surprisingly unique college environment. UNC Pembroke is as distinctive and different as you are. Our enrollment of about 5,600 students will keep you from becoming just another student on campus. Small class sizes and faculty commitment to students promote faculty/student interaction and allow attention to individual student needs.

It should interest a Teaching Fellows candidate to know that UNCP's School of Education has received an Exemplary Rating in the State Board of Education's second performance report on how colleges are training teachers, ranking number one among universities with less than 10,000 students and second among all 47 programs in the state.

As a Teaching Fellow at Pembroke, you will become an integral part of our Teacher Education Program participating in enrichment activities even beyond those of the exemplary program. A variety of educationally and culturally stimulating activities, including our prestigious Chancellor's Scholars Program, monthly seminars designed to promote your professional and personal growth, the opportunity to work closely with selected faculty mentors, and social activities to provide fun and fellowship await you at UNCP. As a Teaching Fellow, you will be provided a laptop computer to use throughout your study at UNCP, admission to all events at Givens Performing Arts Center is free for Fellows and you will have the opportunity to participate in travel during your junior or senior year.
