What is blended learning?
Students complete an online training course which takes about 5 hours. then candidates come to the instructor-led session, which is about 12 hours and then a testing session which is aobut 4 hours.
Purpose:
The purose of the Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguarding participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

Lifeguard Training: 15 years and older
This course leads to American Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. There must be a minimum of eight people per class, otherwise participants will be moved to the next session.
Prerequisities
Participants must be at least 15 years of age and be able to swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl and breaststroke. Also they must be able to swim 20 yards using a front crawl stroke or breaststroke and surface dive to 7-10 ft and retrieve a 10 lb object and surface and return to the start.

American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED: 2 years
