The North Carolina Child Welfare Education Collaborative (the Collaborative)
is a joint effort of North
Carolina social work
education programs,
the North Carolina Division
of Social Services, the North
Carolina Association of County Directors of
Social Services and the North
Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. By
increasing the number of well trained and highly committed BSWs and MSWs
in local Departments of Social Services, the Collaborative helps to
strengthen public child welfare services. Specialized educational opportunities
emphasizing public child welfare practice are available at all participating
universities. Selected social work students who will commit to work in
North Carolina County DSS receive financial support through the Collaborative
while they earn their degrees.
