We live in a world of words. The recent technological explosion, culminating in the Internet, has only increased the importance of verbal language, which continues to be the primary means by which people everywhere share ideas. Knowing that the people who will lead and succeed in the future are those who can use language effectively, the Department of English and Theatre helps students become strong readers, writers, and speakers.
