UNCP Scholarships

Study Abroad Scholarships/Grants:

In order to be considered for a scholarship, please review all the requirements in the application. Complete the appropriate Study Abroad Application and pay your $50 application fee several days before the scholarship due date. You may submit your completed Study Abroad Application and pay your fee in person at the Office of International Programs at 902 Dogwood Lane here on campus.

 

Kyle and Sarah Carter Annual Scholarship Award for Study Abroad

  • Recipient/s must have completed 60 credits by time of award review (junior status)
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 overall
  • Awards are typically $100-$500 per student
  • Notification of awards are typically communicated one week after the application has been submitted
  • Students must submit the Kyle and Sarah Carter Scholarship Application for consideration. Due by: September 1 or December 10.

 

Maynor Study Abroad Scholarship

  • Applicants do not have to be members of the Esther G. Maynor Honors College to apply
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Financial need is a criterion, which means students need to have completed their FAFSA
  • Contact the Study Abroad Coordinator for Cost and Program Approval Letter
  • Students must submit the Maynor Study Abroad Scholarship Application for consideration. Due byDecember 1, March 1, May 1.

 

Blue Scope Steele Foundation Scholarship

  • Recipient/s must have completed 30 credits by time of award review (sophomore status)
  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 overall
  • Awards are typically $200-$800 per student
  • Notification of awards are typically communicated one week after the application has been submitted
  • Students must submit the Blue Scope Steele Foundation Scholarship Application for consideration. Due by: September 1 or December 10.

 

Prospect High School Class of 1959 International Travel Fund

  • Recipient must: (1) demonstrate financial need; (2) be a native or current resident of Robeson County; (3) be a product of the Public Schools of Robeson County; and (4) commit to teaching in the Public Schools of Robeson County if a teaching position is offered to them
  • Student must be admitted to the teacher education program and have a minimum 2.80 QPA
  • Students must study abroad for a semester or year
  • Students must submit the Prospect High School Class of 1959 International Travel Fund Application for consideration. Due by: December 5 or April 1.

 

Deon Greeene Memorial Scholarship Award

  • Recepients of this award must be full- or part-time undergraduates majoring in Spanish
  • The student must maintain a 2.5 QPA
  • This scholarship will be awarded in the spring semester to help defray travel expenses for students enrolled in a Spanish class that includes study abroad
  • Financial need may be a consideration
