How do I log into Blackboard?

Blackboard uses the same credentials as BraveWeb, the two systems are joined to the same authentication mechanism.

New students who have not yet created a BraveWeb account may do so here. When creating an account you will need to consult your admission's letter for your secret code/activation code.
 

I forgot my Blackboard password, how do I reset it?

Your password to login to Blackboard is the same password as the one you use to login to BraveWeb. You can reset the password from BraveWeb here.
 

Who do I call for Blackboard support?

The IT Help Desk provides Blackboard support and can escalate to other areas as needed. Contact information and office hours can be found here.
 

The tabs/modules/content areas on the left side of the screen are gone. How do I get them back?

Along the edge of the page on the left hand side, there is a small box with an arrow pointing to the right. When you click on it, it will expand the missing area.

You will want to gather information and contact the Help Desk and your instructor. Follow the directions outlined here.

What causes me to get kicked out of a test/exam/quiz?

There are many possible causes. Please consult the "Test Taking Tips" page for a list of the most common issues and their solutions.

I just registered for a class, why can I not see a class it in Blackboard?

There is an overnight proccess which syncs your registration data into Blackboard which runs overnight every business day. Due to this Blackboard classes will not appear instantly.

In a few cases, blackboard courses can remain unavailable for other reasons. See this next question for more.
 

Ive been registered for more than 24 hours, why can I not see it in Blackboard?

1. Keep in mind not all courses make use of Blackboard. Section 800,801,802 and 803 courses are designated as online courses. Other courses only make use of Blackboard at the instructor's discretion.

2. Most courses are hidden from students initially before the start of a semester. Instructors using Blackboard who opt to use it for a course must actively make these courses available.

3. Changes in registration status it may not reflect in Blackboard until the morning of the following business day.
 

 I am an employee who has begun taking classes as a student. Why don't I see my classes in Blackboard?

Employees taking classes as a student will have a student username assigned to them. Employee's will use the student username to log into Blackboard even if they use their faculty/staff account for BraveWeb access.

I have never tought an online course before. How can I get training?

Email the Help Desk with your office hours. They will put you in contact with a Blackboard administrator to arrange an appointment.

I am newly hired. How do I get access to a class I will be teaching?

1. Make sure you have a UNC Pembroke network account. If you do not have one yet this is the correct form to turn into the Help Desk to get one.

2. You will need to contact the Registrar's Office and have yourself listed as the instructor for the course in the catalog.

3. Access is automaticly granted the following business day assuming steps 1 & 2 are completed succesfully.
 

 I am taking over a class from another instructor. How do I get access to the prior professor's blackboard site?

1. You will need to contact the Registrar's Office and have yourself listed as the instructor for the course in the catalog.

2. Access is automaticly granted the following business day assuming steps 1 is completed succesfully.

3. If this needs to be rushed processed the apropriate chair should submit this form.
 

How do I grant additional instructors/students/teaching assistants access to my course?

This form is the correct form to put in this request. It must be submitted by the instructor teaching the course or an apropriate chair.
 

How do I combine two or more online courses into a single course?

This form is the correct form to put in this request. It must be submitted by the instructor teaching the course or an apropriate chair.
 

Students cannot see my course, why?

All Blackboard sites are unavailable to students by default and must be expressly made available at the beginning of the semester. A video demonstrating how to make a course available can be found here.
