Students living in University Housing residence halls, which includes Village Apartments and University Courtyard Apartments, can access Internet via the Residential network (ResidentialWiFi) with a computer using the following instructions.
This must be done from within a housing unit listed above.
While connecting over the wireless or with a wired connection, open an Internet browser. The SafeConnect authentication page (shown below) should automatically be displayed, but if not, try browsing to safeconnect.uncp.edu.

Login with your network (BraveWeb) username and password. Check "I accept the acceptable use policy" and submit.
Once you authenticate, you will receive the following message. Click "Yes, I will install the Macintosh Policy Key ...".
You will be prompted to download the SafeConnectMacInstaller.zip file. Select "Save File". Take note of the location in which the application is saved. By default it should go into the "Download" folder in your home directory.
If your browser does not automatically extract the installer for you, double-click the pkg file, then run the installer. Select "Continue."
Select "Install for all users of this computer" and then select "Continue".
Once you select Install it will prompt you for account credentials. It is not necessarily the credentials for your UNCP account. This is an account local to your computer. It may be the username and password you must use to log in when it first boots up, or when it comes back from a screen saver.
After you authenticate, please wait as the installer runs.
When you get the screen below, you have finished the installation. You may now hit the "Close" button and begin browsing the web.
