LOOKING FOR A JOB?

University Center and Programs serves as a laboratory of learning for students by providing employment opportunities. Student employees serve at a variety of levels and in various roles. Listed are brief descriptions of student employment opportunities. Go to Brave Opportunities for full descriptions and to apply for interested positions.

Level I

Recreation Center Assistant
Assists customers with rental services and equipment. Assists with individuals, groups and classes. Maintain and clean machines. Operates cash register.

Information Station Assistant
Students must have basic knowledge of computer usage, telephone etique, possess good communication skills and a friendly attitude. Motivated and willing to handle a variety of support tasks.

Level II

Building Night Manager
Monitors University Center and University Center Annex during the evening. Assist, manage and conduct facility and event setups. Secure conference rooms and computer lab.

Recreation Center Night Manager
Manages the recreation center on the evening shift. The on-site manager for recreation programs and services. Must be able to operate cash register.

Information Station Night Manager
Manages the Information Station on the evening shift. The on-site manager for events and programs that occur within the UC. Includes other support duties as assigned.

Shuttle Bus Driver
This position will drive the shuttle bus and/or van for the University Center and Programs department to transport UNCP students to and from destinations according to an established schedule to include multiple runs on scheduled dates. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum three years driving experience. Experience driving 15-passenger vehicles is preferred.

Requirements for Level II Positions:

  • Interest in gaining managerial experience
  • Dependability, reliability in past work experience
  • Excellent attendance record a must

*Students awarded with federal work-study should apply. All students may apply for level 1 or 2 postions. Positions are awarded for one academic year. Students must re-apply each year.
