3rd Annual Polar Plunge
The first 100 to register and take this plunge will receive a free event T-Shirt! REGISTER TODAY, MONDAY AND TUESDAY IN THE UC from 11am-1pm.
The Office of Housing and Residence Life, Courtyard Apartments and Reddy Ice will be holding its 3rd Annual Polar Plunge on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 3pm (plunge will take place 4pm). The event is held each year to help raise both awareness and donations for a worthy cause or charity. This year’s charity is the UNCP CARE Resource Center. The CARE Resource Center is an on-campus resource to help address food insecurity and poverty on campus and in the local community. The Center is comprised of three components to help meet these needs: food pantry, professional clothing closet, and a classroom for workshops focusing on life skills and career readiness. The goal of the CARE Resource Center is to be a central, safe location for UNCP students, staff, faculty, and community members to come and receive aid towards their clothing, food, and educational needs. All services are free, student led, and donor/volunteer supported. For more information about the Center, please visit the CARE Resource Center www.uncp.edu/cce.
Our goal is to encourage 100+ students, faculty, staff and administrators to participant by donating five (5) non-perishable items or $5 AND “take the plunge” into the icy cold water in support of this great cause! 100% of all donations will be given to the UNCP Care Resource Center’s food pantry. The first 100 participants to register and donate will receive a commemorative t-shirt after taking the plunge.
The location for this event is Courtyard Apartments, located at 567 University Rd in Pembroke, NC 28372. Pre-registration for this event is at the Courtyard Apartments Community Building from 9am to 6pm Monday thru Friday beginning January 21st OR in the University Center Mall on February 6th, 9th and 10th from 11am to 1pm.
Thank you in advance for your support!
