She discussed the brave web for UNCP students. Brave Web for students and faculty members as an online system using netscape or internet explorer. One can check grades, run audits, view financial aid, and register for classes online. Live demonstration will be April 7th and 8th. There will be mail sent out with the user name and a personal access code. As soon as one gets it, they must go and change the password as soon as possible. This information will be discussed at the student forum. One needs to pre-register before April 22nd. Senators need to get the word out

5. Committee Reports

A. Student Issues: A report was made for the sixth floor North Hall showerheads to be replaced.
Dr. Jones and Dean Swiney are still checking on the cost of toilet seat covers
Meals Construction Company received the contract for the on-campus housing apartments. It will be two to three weeks before they receive a floor plan design, which includes color photos.
On April 1, the construction will begin on the project, and they will be moving dirt and digging ditches as preparation for the building’s construction. Single rooms will be made available, although they will not be designed as single rooms (so they would have one bedroom and one bath), and only when extra rooms beyond the ones in Pine Hall are needed will they make an apartment of singles. The price for this has not been determined at this time.

B. Food Committee: Due to the absence of the chair, there was no report

C. Entertainment: Late Night Bash was last Friday night. There were 250 students that attended. DVD, Stereo, movie, CDs, and more were given out as prizes. It was a lot of fun. Interactive Picture was there where one can make their own video. “8 Mile” showed again on Saturday. There were from 50-60 people in attendance. “Friday After Next” will be playing at Moore Hall at 8 pm. Next Tuesday on March 25, the comedian Dan Levy will be at UNCP at 8 pm. Music Fest is coming up April 30th and we are looking for a variety this semester. If you know anyone or some friends that would like to see or are interested, they need to see Lenora Bowler or James Bass. Step Africa, which is sponsored by Student Activities, AASO, and Pan-Hellenic will be here next Monday on March 24th in Moore Hall at 8 pm. The Music Fest meeting will be March 24th at 3 pm in room 251

D. Constitution: No Report

E. Interclub: Jennifer Langley spoke with Cynthia Oxendine and we are not allowed to move the mailboxes. We are going ahead and getting the names of the clubs and organizations on the boxes.

F. Community Service: Teen Court is tomorrow at Red Springs. Youth dance is on April 4th on Friday and Campaign for Compassion starts Monday. Dealing with Service NC, the “Done in a Day” agenda was passed out. It has the number of volunteers needed for each event as well. There will be young groups such as Purnell Sweat, Palmer Prevention, etc. Discussed a situation with T-shirts for the day. SGA donated $550 to Service NC for T-shirts.

G. Spirit: No Report

H. Public Relations: TV show editing will be postponed and it will finished tomorrow. Andrea Miyagi will be discussing the Ropes Course and Adam Grossman will be discussing about the apartment

I. Critical Mass: We are pushing the rental books. There are a couple of ideas: ASU is one with a flat fee or online message boards and students renting books from each other.

J. Finance Committee: SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) organization was discussed at the meeting. They want to go to the regional competition and requested $500.00 and the rooms cost $405.21 and gas will be $94.79. We will be giving them a total $304.79.

K. Treasurer’s Report: Student Legislature wanted $500.00, but they did not have an on-campus account nor 50% in their account.

L. President’s Report: The online directory will be on March 28th, and if one does not want their personal information online, they need to go online and click no for personal information. This is getting out through the Pine Needle, TV show, Listserve, and mass nailing. The seal for the senior gift will not work because the art department does not have enough time and the stainless glass cost a lot of money. Seniors need to get together afterwards. Committee chairs need to submit a paper dealing with their accomplishments for final report. This will be on April 16th. Committee chairs need to add any information in their final report.
