vice chancellor for student affairs' message
It is my pleasure to welcome you to The University of North Carolina at Pembroke! The Division of Student Affairs is excited to have you join the UNC Pembroke family and to have the opportunity to work with you. I hope that the 2007-2008 academic year will be a great year for you and that you will experience “the personal touch” which distinguishes UNCP from other campuses.
The Division of Student Affairs is committed to providing quality programs, activities, services and facilities that will assist, enhance and enrich your experience at UNCP. Programs and services are offered to assist each student to develop intellectually, socially, culturally, physically, and emotionally. Opportunities for personal growth and development abound. We encourage you to get involved in some of our many activities which include student government, clubs and organizations, student publications, theater, intramural sports, and our student leadership and personal development program—just to name a few. We also hope that you will take advantage of the facilities available on campus, including tennis courts, bowling alleys, swimming pools, fitness centers, and tracks. While it is important that your first priority be your academic studies, we hope that you will take advantage of the many co-curricular activities and programs available to you.
The Division of Student Affairs includes University Housing, Student Health Services, Student Life, Counseling and Testing, Career Services, the Chavis University Center, the Givens Performing Arts Center, the Center for Leadership & Service, Greek Life, Judicial Affairs, Multicultural and Minority Affairs, and Intramurals. If we can be of service to you in any of these areas, please do not hesitate to let us know. Our doors are always open to you!
We wish you the best at UNC Pembroke and look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Diane O. Jones
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
