CHANCELLOR'S MESSAGE

Dear UNC Pembroke Students:

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the University, I want to welcome you to the 2007-2008 academic year. We are excited about the year that lies ahead for you. It is our goal to challenge you both in and out of the classroom. We will offer a diverse set of opportunities that will allow you to grow socially, spiritually, academically and personally.

The faculty and staff are committed to helping you make your college experience as rich and full as it can be. We have several series to stimulate your learning. One of these is the Distinguished Speaker Series. I hope that you will attend as many of these events as your schedule will permit.

We are returning our Performing Artists Series and Nostalgic Series for your enrichment. We will also continue to offer our cultural series, weekly movies and an outstanding leadership series. Our athletic teams and the artists from our excellent music and theater departments provide frequent opportunities for you to participate and/or to see your fellow students at their best.

As a student at UNC Pembroke, you are the most important individual in the world to us. You are the reason the University exists. We will provide opportunities for your overall growth and development. I challenge you to take advantage of these opportunities.
