All retirees from the University who have held academic rank (including those who have moved to “phased retirement”) are considered de facto members of the “Retired Faculty Club.”  The category of “Associate Member” comprises those faculty not yet retired who have served at least 25 years at UNC-Pembroke.

The Retired Faculty Club has been in existence since 1999.  Current de facto and associate members in the retired Faculty Club consist of all known retired faculty and 25-year faculty for whom we have contact information, and include spouses of deceased members.  Membership now numbers 112 individuals.

The Retired Faculty Club is primarily a social club whose members are active based on their connection with UNCP.  In addition to the Banquet, these faculty members are sent issues of the student newspaper, are invited to the annual Faculty Appreciation Dinner, and receive communications from university administrative offices.

UNCP believes that the continued connection of retired faculty to our university community is essential to our mission and heritage.  We welcome this group to campus, and hope for their continued association with the university.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Sandy Waterkotte, Vice Chancellor for Advancement, at 910.521.6252.
