Visual Voices: Contemporary Chickasaw Art Opening Reception

Please join the Museum of the Southeast American Indian for the opening reception of the acclaimed exhibit, Visual Voices: Contemporary Chickasaw Art. The only east coast venue where the exhibit will be shown, nearly 60 artworks features present-day Chickasaw painters, potters, sculptors, metal smiths and weavers, all of which convey a beautiful and compelling visual Chickasaw story. From oil and watercolor to textiles and metals, glass, bronze and other materials, the artworks of 15 featured Chickasaw artists in this exhibition are unique, intrinsically Southeast in design and distinctive among today’s contemporary tribal artists.



Spend an evening exploring Chickasaw culture and stories with artists Joanna Underwood Blackburn, Erin Shaw, Joshua Hinson, Lisa Hudson, Dustin Mater, and Brenda Kingery.
