University and Community Relations provides UNCP and its constituencies with up-to-date news and information about the University.

In addition, University and Community Relations:

  • maintains UNCP's Web site,
  • publishes UNCP Today, the alumni magazine,
  • provides news and photo coverage of campus events,
  • coordinates major campus events such as commencement and Pembroke Day,
  • oversees the Department of Police and Public Safety,
  • manages the University Calendar,
  • maintains the Emergency Information Hotline and Brave Alert web site,
  • maintains the University Newswire Web site,
  • programs the Lowry Bell Tower,
  • publishes the Brave Bulletin, the faculty and staff newsletter,
  • serves as the University's primary liaison with state and local elected officials, and
  • does institutional advertising.
