2010 PURCS Awards

Thanks to the hard work of our students and faculty mentors, we had another exciting PURC Symposium.  We wish to congratulate each participating student and faculty member for a job well done.  This year we added a judging aspect to the PURCS and, as you can imagine, it was difficult to select top presentations.  No less, we identified first place and two honorable mentions for each judged category.  The first place winners received a $100 gift card which can be used in the UNCP Bookstore …and the winners are:

This year we received financial support for the PURC Center and Symposium through a generous gift from Progress Energy.  We really appreciate their commitment to UNCP and student scholarship.

Special thanks to Michael Alewine and Robert Arndt for their help judging the Oral Presentations and the Humanities/Business Posters.  Thanks also to Mary Crowe, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research at UNC Greensboro, and Roy Charles, Director of Diversity, Recruitment, and Retention in the UNC Chapel Hill Graduate School, for their participation in the PURCS. 

We are already looking forward to next year’s PURCS.
