Welcome to the Department of Political Science. The department is committed to preparing students for a variety of career opportunities. These career opportunities include jobs in government, the law, international affairs, politics, journalism, and many other fields. The department has an excellent record of placing its graduates in law school and graduate school.

Our commitment to preparing students means that each student will have the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated faculty that takes an active interest in his or her progress. All of our faculty are Ph.D.s who are professionally active and published in their fields of expertise. Some students gain valuable experience working with faculty on research projects or by participating in professional societies and competitions. Many other students gain valuable professional and practical experience through the department's internship programs. It all adds up to an exciting and rewarding educational experience.

We are especially pleased to tell you that our Master's Program in Public Administration is rapidly growing. We are also offering this graduate program on-campus, online and on Ft. Bragg.

As you review our programs and activities, do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or requests for additional information.

Dr. Kevin S. Freeman
Assistant Professor and Interim Chair
