Prssa events

2008-2009:

  • We hosted our 2nd Annual McDonald's Fundraiser night November 18, 2008. Our supporters purchased food at McDonald's across from campus between the hours of 6-9pm. A percentage of all purchases was donated to our fundraiser.
  • Ten members attended NC PRSA Day in Chapel Hill on November 20, 2008.
  • We will participate in Relay for Life during Spring semester.
  • Departmental Awards Luncheon in April.

    2005-2006:

  • Kelani Coakley edited our first-ever newsletter.
  • Krista Lamm produced our new website at www.uncp.edu/prssa/.

     

    2004-2005:

  • Ten PRSSA members and faculty adviser George Harrison attended a PRSSA Convention in Raleigh at NC State on March 29-30, 2005. Various workshops were held. Event Planning, How To Do a Cover Letter, and The Do and Do-Not of Your Resume were some topics discussed. PRSSA National Vice President of Chapter Development Bridgette Wright spoke about fundraising ideas. To learn more, check out the National PRSSA website at www.prssa.org.

  • Mark Payne, program coordinator for Higher Ground Educational Center, asked PRSSA to produce new brochures, a PowerPoint presentation, and a DVD to help promote Higher Ground programs. We agreed to undertake this very large project. Dan Henry worked on the brochure. Jackie Bower worked on the DVD.
