Property Identification Numbers

Operation PIN is a program designed to help students and law enforcement identify personal property. The University Police will provide an electric engraver to students to engrave their driver's license number or there social security number on the back of their personal property. A PIN inventory list will also be provided so students can record their property's make, model, and serial numbers. This list can be kept on file at the University Police Department. The crime prevention officer will keep these records on file in case a student's property is lost or stolen. Participation in operation PIN by all residents is recommended and can be very helpful if someone should fall victim to the crime of larceny. The engraver can be signed out at the University Police Department and copies of the PIN inventory list will be provided to the dorm supervisors.
