The Lady Braves volleyball team lost their 11th consecutive game on Oct. 13, when the visiting Montevallo Falcons defeated the host squad in straight sets in conference play at the English E. Jones Center. Looking forwardThe Lady Braves will take on nonconference foe Coker, from the Conference Carolinas, for the second time this season on Oct. 24 as they try to snap an 11-game losing streak.The Lady Braves last victory of the season was when they defeated Coker in straight sets on Sept. 12. The Cobras have struggled thus far in the campaign and have compiled a 5-18 record on the season. In their most recent tilt, Coker lost a nonconference match to PBC foe Francis Marion on Oct. 18 three sets to one. The Cobras carry a five game losing streak going into their matchup with the Black and Gold and are also looking to gain some momentum in the later portion of the season with a victory. Following the nonconference rematch with Coker, the Lady Braves will travel to conference powerhouses Armstrong Atlantic and Flagler on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27, respectively. Armstrong Atlantic has won 22 of their 26 matches this season and is currently second in the PBC standings. Junior Jessica Santaniello has led the Pirates with a PBC-high 297 kills with a .289 hitting percentage on the season. Santaniello has also recorded 281 digs in 2012 from her outside hitter position. Flagler is currently the top team in the PBC standings with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play in 2012. The Lady Saints are led by freshman Amelia Morgan and senior Dianna Craine. Morgan has tallied a conference-high 830 assists on the season, while Craine leads the PBC in kills per set with over three kills a game. The Lady Braves have already lost a game each to both sides, Armstong Atlantic and Flagler, earlier in the 2012 campaign. | |||
