Men’s soccer player Thomas Morrow was named UNCP student-athlete of the week for Oct. 15-22 for his Black and Gold most valuable player-esque performance against Barton and Georgia Southwestern.
The 6-foot-3 Fayetteville native and Pine Forest High School graduate, scored four goals, including both game-winning scores, in leading the Braves to a 2-0-0 record during the week.
In a convincing road win at Barton on Oct. 18, the senior scored in the 6th and 46th minutes, while also tallying a first half assist,
in a 5-2 win for the Black and Gold over Barton. He followed the performance with two more scores, his fifth multi-goal outing of the season, in a key 4-1 triumph over Peach Belt Conference foe Georgia Southwestern.
He currently ranks in a tie for third in the PBC with 10 goals and is listed sixth in the league with 20 points.
His 55 shots currently matches him at the top of the league rankings with Lander's Nick Cooke.
The PBC tournament quarterfinals begin Oct. 30, three days after UNCP plays at home versus USC-Aiken.
