UNCP's Danielle Richardson named Kodak/WBCA
All-America Honorable Mention

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Eastman Kodak Company have announced the 2005 NCAA Division II Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team. Selection committee members in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions selected the women's basketball players to be honored. UNC Pembroke is pleased to announce that senior Danielle Richardson has earned NCAA Division II All-America Honorable Mention recognition.

After a record-setting 18-10 season that saw the UNC Pembroke women’s basketball squad clinch first place in the Peach Belt Conference’s North Division, Richardson garnered first team all-conference honors and became the first Pembroke player in history to be named the PBC Player of the Year.

The 6-foot-2 post from Jacksonville, Fla. was simply dominant during the season, averaging a double-double with 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She turned in 17 double-doubles in 28 games this season. Additionally, Richardson tallied a school-record 85 blocks and ended her career with a program-record 157 rejections.
