Pickard and Coward reach century mark

By Joel Beachum
Staff Writer

They have had illustrious careers racking up a combined 214-35 record and have helped put UNCP wrestling into further prominence.

For Curry Pickard and Dwayne Coward, they also reached a new milestone in their senior season of 2004-05 - the 100-win plateau.

Pickard, currently No. 1 in the nation at the 133-pound class, garnered his 100th victory earlier in the season and now stands at 111-24 for his career. That places him seventh all time in UNCP wrestling. Coward, ranked No. 2 in the nation in the 165-pound weight class, made it 100 after winning the Ed South Tournament two weeks ago held in Jefferson City, Tenn. Coward is currently 103-11.
