All-state

UNCP sophomore
goalkeeper Hillary Helms was chosen to the 2004 North Carolina Collegiate
Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State

Helms, a sophomore
from Nashville, N.C., set a UNCP school record with 11 shutouts
and gave up only seven goals (0.45 GAA) in 1,386 minutes for the
12-5-2 Braves.
Richardson
PBC Player of Week
Danielle Richardson
was named the Peach Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of
the Week Jan. 24.
Richardson averaged
a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds per game in two UNCP
Peach Belt wins over that week.
Gorres
picked to play for USL’s Richmond Kickers
Looking to increase
the strength in the midfield, the Richmond Kickers chose UNCP’s
Sascha Görres with their first round pick, 10th overall, in
the United Soccer Leagues First Division’s College Player
Draft Jan. 18.
One of only
two All-Americans to play for UNCP, Görres holds the school
record for career assists with 28 and scored the game-winning goal
in the 81st minute of the NCAA quarterfinal match that sent UNCP
to their first ever Final Four appearance.
The 6'1"
